The Sunday Telegraph letters column is full of anger at the EU for not fulfilling its side of the ‘bargain’ in reforming the Common Agricultural Policy. ‘Withold our increased payments’ they say.

The EU has not been audited for years.  It must surely be illegal for our government to continue to give money to this financial morass.  ‘Withhold ALL our payments’ I say – until the accounts are properly audited and until the EU honours its committements.

We hold the whip hand.  We should flay the beast.
